Kituwah, Bryson City, North Carolina, Platinum/Palladium, 5"x7"

Kituwah is a sacred place where many Cherokee believe their people originated. The site retains a sense of importance, though it's mound (second photograph) has decreased greatly in size. When I stood there at Kituwah, surrounded by mountains, I felt as if I was standing in the center of one of the most beautiful places on earth.
